THE EIGERØY LIGHT HOUSE

- 2 min lesing
Discover one of Norway’s most beautiful coastal walks. This guided hike takes you through open seascapes, historic coastal landscapes, and all the way to the iconic Eigerøy Lighthouse – a place where nature, culture, and the Atlantic Ocean meet.

Located just outside Egersund, the hike to Eigerøy Lighthouse is one of the most scenic and accessible coastal experiences in south-west Norway. The route follows beautiful terrain through open landscapes shaped by wind, sea, and generations of coastal life, with wide views of the North Sea and a true feeling of being close to the edge of Norway.
At the end of the trail stands Eigerøy Lighthouse, one of the oldest cast-iron lighthouses in Norway and a striking landmark on this exposed stretch of coast. The lighthouse area is rich in atmosphere, history, and dramatic ocean scenery, making it a perfect destination for guests who want to experience both natural beauty and a piece of Norwegian coastal heritage.
This is a hike that can be adapted to the group, making it ideal for couples, small groups, and families. If you are hiking with children, we are happy to add a fun and memorable stop along the way for crab fishing by the shore. It is a simple but authentic coastal experience that children love, and a great way to connect with the sea and the local way of life.
With Cathrine and Kjetil from #theWildSW as your guides, this becomes more than just a walk to a lighthouse. Along the way, we share local stories, coastal culture, hidden details in the landscape, and the kind of local knowledge that turns a nice walk into a real experience.
This guided experience is perfect for guests who want a beautiful and flexible coastal adventure with a mix of nature, history, and family-friendly activities.
