Hike to one of Norway’s most famous and most unusual rock formations. Deep in the heart of Magma UNESCO Global Geopark, Trollpikken is a spectacular natural landmark shaped like a giant stone phallus – a geological wonder that is as fascinating as it is unforgettable.

Located just outside Egersund, Trollpikken has become one of the region’s most iconic natural attractions. But this is more than just a walk to a famous photo spot. This guided experience takes you through a varied and scenic landscape, where rocky terrain, open heathland, forested sections, and panoramic viewpoints combine to create a truly memorable adventure.

The hike leads to the famous rock formation itself, where those who wish can climb up and sit on top of Trollpikken for a unique and playful photo opportunity. Along the way, you will experience the dramatic geology that makes this part of south-west Norway so special. Along the way, we pass natural giant’s kettles carved into the bedrock by ancient glacial forces. In warm weather, some of these remarkable rock pools are perfect for a refreshing swim.

Unlike a simple return walk, this experience continues all the way back to the centre of Egersund, making the journey feel like a real adventure from start to finish. In total, the hike covers approximately 10 kilometres, offering a diverse and ever-changing route through one of Norway’s most unique geological landscapes.

Set in the heart of Magma UNESCO Global Geopark, this is a hike where geology, scenery, and local character come together in a truly unforgettable way. With Cathrine and Kjetil from #theWildSW as your guides, you will enjoy more than just the hike itself. Along the way, we share local stories, geological insight, and hidden details that bring the landscape to life.

This guided experience is ideal for active guests looking for a scenic and slightly adventurous hike to one of Norway’s most talked-about natural landmarks.
